These were essentially intermedia works, based on a paradox typical of reism3 − gramophone records intended for viewing. Another aspect of their significance lies in their spiral structure, which is an intermediate stage between Matanovič’s early paintings and his later cosmic projects. The idea was that they would be sold in record shops as multiples at regular prices, in this way acquiring the status of a consumerist object, freeing themselves of the constraints of a closed art space and interacting with the viewers directly. I had it at home only – I do not think that it was ever shown publicly –, and I also put lights inside the work so it would glow.
